Locally Based Partnership work - OVERVIEW
As a Locally based partner (LBP), cultural solutions are using EMBridge investment to develop a young people’s strand of the Home Office funded Alchemy Project.
The project aims to bring individuals and groups together through positive cultural activities and in doing so assist in the avoidance of Hate Crime in Boston and the surrounding area. As the future of the area, young people are key in this process and the LBP project is supporting them to lead the way.
In 2013 the programme worked with Boston Police Cadets to begin a targeted young people’s strand. The Cadets are working on the development of a cultural programme which will also see them taking part in Arts Award, an accreditation scheme. Initial consultation with cadets (using an online survey programme, Survey Monkey) identified several areas they were interested in exploring. See the tabs above for more information on each element.
In January 2014 phase 2 began and will see a group of Eastern European Young People from Have High Academy joining the programme. This group will also take part in Arts Award as well as working alongside Cadets to programme culturally diverse work.
We are working with a group of 11 young people from Haven High, the majority of this group are originally from Eastern Europe.
Creative consultation has taken place and workshops are now being planned based on the Young People’s interests.

A series of Go sees are planned as part of the programme to share new ideas and experiences with the group which will inform their own future programming.
